Srinagar: The horrific explosion that occurred on Friday night at Naugam Police Station in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, shook the entire area. The blast occurred at 11:20 pm, when sampling of 360 kg of explosives seized from Faridabad was going on. DGP Nalin Prabhat called it an 'accidental blast,' but Congress leader Supriya Shrenate raised questions, citing PAFF's claim of being linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Did the security lapse cost lives?

According to reports, 9 people were killed. These include SIA team leads, magistrates, forensic experts, and crime photographers. Most of the injured are policemen and FSL team members. Naugam station was about to crack the Jaish-e-Mohammed poster case. Ammonium nitrate seized from Faridabad was kept in an open area. The FSL team was carrying out sampling in the presence of a magistrate when the blast occurred. In CCTV footage, debris jumped 300 meters away. People living 15 km away felt the explosion. DGP Prabhat said that the sensitive material was being handled carefully, but unfortunately the accident happened. The injured are undergoing treatment in the Army Hospital.

PAFF's claim: DGP rejects 'speculation'?

Shrunate tweeted that PAFF (Jaish linked) claimed responsibility—not a coincidence." But DGP termed it as "baseless speculation." Material seized from the Faridabad 'white-collar' terror case and the network of doctors seized. The blast turned the station into rubble and caught fire. Several vehicles were also burnt. Local residents said the blast was so powerful that houses shook." Was it an accident or a plan to silence the investigation?

Will Jaish's big plan be exposed?

The blast took place 24 hours after bulldozer action at the Pulwama house of Delhi Red Fort blast mastermind Dr. Omar Nabi. Medical professionals, including Al-Falah University staff from UP, Haryana, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir, have been detained. 360 kg of explosives and detonators were recovered from Umar's room. The Home Ministry ordered an investigation. Will security holes be improved?
